Congratulations to Peta Tilse, awarded finalist in the IT Innovation category of the Women in Financial Services Awards.
The award recognises those individuals who have "helped drive fundamental change in the Australian Financial Services industry through digital transformation". The development of Cygura to facilitate the online certification of sophisticated and wholesale investors presents a significant shift from traditional paper-based processes and affords greater protections for the investors themselves.
It’s an issue that has become even more significant, with the introduction of new tax incentives for investing in innovation, which will require many Angel investors to also be certified as sophisticated investors.
Peta’s commitment to advising policy makers, industry groups and leaders on this issue is already driving positive change in the financial services industry. RegTech by its nature deals with the less “trendy”, technical side of finance, and consequently effecting change takes time. However Cygura has the capacity to address one of the finance sector’s biggest difficulties – managing regulation.
